About the Event
Faith Amour is a celebrated jazz vocalist and songwriter from Toronto, recognized for her warm vocals and dynamic performances. She began her musical journey in church and community choirs before studying classical voice, piano, organ, and composition. Her natural creativity led her to the jazz scene, where she has made a significant impact.
Amour's debut album, "Bright Eyes," is a multilingual project featuring English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian songs. This album won Best Jazz CD and Best Jazz Vocal at the New Mexico Music Awards. She has performed for notable figures such as the First Lady of Guyana and former Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson. She has also shared the stage with legendary artists like Kathleen Battle and Jessye Norman as part of the Nathaniel Dett Chorale.
Besides her solo work, Faith Amour has been a featured vocalist in various settings, including a travelling Ray Charles tribute and theatrical productions like "The Reality of the Impossible Dream." Her tribute series to jazz divas, including Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, and Nina Simone, has been well-received across Canada and the U.S. She is also active as a composer, conductor, and performer at numerous jazz festivals and events.
Faith continues to perform live and virtually, bringing jazz classics and her unique interpretations to audiences worldwide.
