Vision
Founded by Ana Klasnja, Maria Karam and LEX the Redwood Contemporary Art Gallery, a non-for-profit, opened in 2025 to expand the radically accessible spirit of the Redwood Theatre to Toronto’s art scene.
We celebrate unconventional, innovative art — from traditional media to immersive, interactive, tech-driven art of an age dominated by AI. We value creativity that challenges norms, whether it serves a cause or simply exists for its own sake. Our focus is on work that fosters deep human connections and thrives beyond fast consumption.
We’re committed to promoting artists on their own terms, while cultivating a supportive ecosystem for emerging and established creators, curators, educators and audiences to collaborate, share, and grow lasting careers and involvement.

We gather at the Redwood Gallery on the land known as Tkaronto, where stories and ceremonies of the First Nations have echoed from the times immemorial. We honour Indigenous stewardship of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Wendat, and the Mississaugas of the Credit and members of other First Nations present. This land is bound by the principles of the One Dish, One Spoon treaty—an agreement to share the land, take only what we need, and keep the dish clean for all. We acknowledge that we commit to reciprocity, care, and collective responsibility—for each other and for the land, by resisting privatization, displacement, and the erosion of spaces meant for gathering, dreaming, and creating.
