Presented by Joel Katz, Department of Psychology, York University, Voice Faculty, Glenn Gould School, Royal Conservatory of Music - these three rising stars of the classical music scene in Toronto are performing individual shows at the Redwood this fall.
December 3: Mira Kardan - Cello
Bio:
Canadian-American cellist Mira Kardan is rapidly emerging as a compelling soloist and chamber musician, earning top honours including the 2025 Shean Competition and the Corcoran Concerto Competition. Her recent and upcoming appearances include the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, Koerner Hall, the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, and performances of the Schumann and Elgar cello concertos. A former member of the gold-medal-winning Olive Piano Trio, Mira has performed internationally, appeared twice on the nationally syndicated From the Top, and enthusiastically collaborates with young composers and new music. She currently studies at The Glenn Gould School on the Renette and David Berman scholarships with Hans Jørgen Jensen and Andrés Díaz.
