About the event

Song Silenced: Coming Out in Christian Music is a feature documentary by Ry Levey that exposes how million‑selling Christian music artists were ostracized or “cancelled” after coming out as queer, even as their songs shaped modern worship culture. The film weaves their stories together with those of a new generation of openly queer faith-based musicians who bypass traditional Christian radio to reach global audiences on platforms like iTunes and Spotify, transforming the sound and spirit of contemporary Christian music
