On June 6, join us for a screening of three important short films: Sumud, by director Jan Haaken, follows American anesthesiologist Dr. Travis Meleen as he works with Palestinian surgical teams at Nasser Hospital in Gaza, fighting to save lives against all odds under Israel's campaign of medicide and genocide. Clinical Silence is a new short documentary series by Toronto photographer and filmmaker Jay Geerts, premiering at our screening. In the first two installments, We Are Not Safe and We Are Part of This, Dr. Suzan and Dr. Yipeng Ge reflect on the personal, professional and ethical dimensions of healthcare workers bearing witness to trauma, grief, and survival — grappling with the silence of their colleagues and institutions, and the price paid by those who dare to speak out.
