"Today is March 16 and it is the 4th anniversary of the closing of the Orbit Room at 580a College Street. After 25 years, more than 8500 live shows, dozens of bands, hundreds of musicians and thousands music loving fans, the door closed forever. There are now apartments where the club used to be. I wanted to promote R&B and Soul music, the kind that is known as the Toronto Sound, hence, the Hammond organ that I wanted to be a part of all the bands that played there...
Well, far too many great memories to recount here right now. I'm sure that you all have your favourites. Thanks again to all of you, staff , musicians and fans for keeping the place alive for 25 years. I'm now booking bands at the Redwood Theatre in the east end!"
