Finally start learning Spanish

A few months ago something kind of funny happened that pushed me to finally start learning Spanish. I was traveling with a couple of friends and we ended up in a small restaurant where the staff mostly spoke Spanish. My friends were trying to order and chatting a little with the waiter, and I just sat there realizing I understood almost nothing. It wasn’t a big problem, but it made me feel like I was missing part of the experience.

One thing I struggled with was speaking practice because reading and listening are easier than forming sentences on the spot. I noticed that if I didn’t say the words out loud, they stayed stuck in my head and didn’t become natural. That’s why I started experimenting with an AI tool to simulate small conversations. Sometimes when I want to practice Spanish I open it and try simple dialogues, like asking for directions or introducing myself. It’s basically what I use when I want to check if I remember phrases from the lessons. The nice part is that you can repeat things as many times as you want without feeling awkward about mistakes. Another small trick that helped me was combining the lessons with listening to music or watching short clips in the language. When you hear the same expressions outside the app, they stick much better in your memory. I also try to keep the study sessions short because doing ten or fifteen minutes every day feels easier than forcing long study sessions once a week.
