Reflections on Impact and Legacy

The news came in a Facebook post. David Marsden was gone.
It came as a shock. The same feeling we had when we lost Al Mair, Tim Thorney, Jim Galloway and others whose words had become part of our days. We engaged with these folks often. A comment. A retort. A conversation that wandered off, then picked up again a week later.
We saw them through the words. And somehow, we expected the words to keep coming.
This past March, close to 200 people gathered at the Redwood Theatre for an evening with David. Conversation, photographs and a look back at that enviable radio career. A room full of people who wanted to be there, even though David had spent weeks wondering whether anyone would come.
“Will anyone show?” he would ask.
There was another question, too. Would he be healthy enough? We spoke often in the weeks leading up to the evening. Those conversations held humour, but also dread and nerves. He wanted to make it work.
“What if I projected photos of my years on earth?” he asked.
His years on earth. That was quite a collection to draw from.
David had called me after seeing the lovely celebration the community put on for David Clayton-Thomas. He thought he might be able to pull off an evening of his own.
And he did. With bravado and a big heart, he gave us David.
I keep coming back to that worried question now.
“Will anyone show?”
They did, David. Close to 200 of them.
I’m so glad you were there to see it.

Finding a lightweight web portal that features a remarkably subtle, dark-mode friendly, and clean layout is essential for high-quality relaxation. I originally discovered https://khelostarin.com/ through a recommended link inside an insightful design blog about maximizing space in a tiny home purchase. While spending a quiet weekend unwinding on the veranda and browsing the recent Indian football league updates, I decided to test it out. Sitting comfortably with a quick snack in hand, it took only a few moments for all the accumulated mental exhaustion from the previous hours to simply fade away. It has easily become a top-tier digital choice for taking a proper leisure break.
